In the Salvation Army our Ministers are called Officers. And at Luton our Officers are Major’s Ralph and Maxine Walker. They have nearly 35 year’s experience between them as Salvation Army Officers.
They were married in 2001 and have two children, Nathanael aged 13 and Ethan aged 10.
Major Maxine comes from Sittingbourne and from a Salvation Army background having been brought up in the Army all her life, and as an Officer she has had 5 appointments, firstly she was at the Salvation Army children’s home (Mountbatton Centre), then she was the Commanding officer at Wadhurst Society, following Wadhurst she became the Commanding Officer of Minster (Isle of Thanet). After two years at Minster she married Capt. Ralph who joined her at Minster (Maxine was at Minster for 7 years Ralph was there for 5 years), in 2006 they moved to become the Officers of Harpenden and then in 2015 onto be the Commanding Officer of Luton.
Major Ralph comes from Nuneaton (near Coventry) and is a first generation Salvationist. And only joined the Salvation Army in 1995. As an Officer he has had three appointments. Firstly at Minster (Isle of Thanet) where he joined Major Maxine, and then in 2006 to Harpenden before finally arriving at Luton Corps.
